After four short years, in 1997, Brandon won his first WKA Championship, the North American Karting Championship at Lowes Motor Speedway. in 1998 efforts earned Brandon another WKA Championship, as he was the recipient of the Grand National Championship for Jr. Sportsman 1.
Brandon’s final year at racing in the WKA proved to be his most productive. He raced his way to the National Champion on Jr. Sportsman 2 and Jr. Champ divisions. His 2000 efforts also earned him the Most Improved Driver award in the WKA.
After the 2000 WKA season, Brandon decides to challenge his talents with dirt track racing. He finished Top Five in the point championships for 2001 and third in 2002 at his local dirt track in Lancaster, SC. At the close of the 2002 season, Brandon was at the eligible age to race in the Pro Cup series at Hickory Motor Speedway in Hickory, NC, a NASCAR sanctioned racing venue. Brandon achieved a lot in the 2003 season at HMS. He finished third in Pro Cup points and placed highest in the points for rookies, in all divisions. This achievement earned him the Carolina Motorsports Technical Institute Rookie Challenge Scholarship in 2003.
In 2004, Brandon moved on to the NASCAR Dodge Weekly series and Big 10 Super Truck Series. This series allowed Brandon to race a higher level of competition and at more venues. Tracks visited by this series are:
North Carolina Tracks: Hickory Motor Speedway, Tri-County Motor Speedway, and Caraway Motor Speedway; South Carolina Tracks: Greenville Speedway, Myrtle Beach Motor Speedway, and Southern National; Virginia Tracks: South Boston Motor Speedway, and Motor Mile
In 2005, Brandon continued to move his way up the circuit into the Late Model Stock Division. For the remainder of the 2009 season, Brandon was team driver for Eddie and Travis Kiker and the #5 Kiker Motorsport.
In 2010 Brandon and the Kiker Motorsports set out for a track championship. That season, Dean was good and lucky. The strength and consequent success of Kiker Motorsports is reflected in the accolades that accompany a track title: By virtue of two wins and a division-high seventeen top tens, Dean scored finishes of fifth in the Virginia State point standings and is listed seventeenth overall in the NASCAR WHELEN All-American Series national standings. This season’s record is a career best for both Dean and his car owners. Clinching The 2010 NASCAR Whelan All American Motor Mile Speedway Track Championship. With the championship, Dean and Kiker Motorsports become only the third different team to win a title in the premier division at the speedway since the ownership change in 2004, adding their names to a short list that includes only Deiny and Morris.
Outside of the racing environment, Brandon graduated High School in 2005 at Lancaster High School. Brandon attended his freshman year at the University of South Carolina, then pursuing an engineer degree in 2006 at The University of North Carolina. .Brandon graduated n May of 2010 with a William Lee States Mechanical Engineer Degree and a Math Minor.
